Maintenance and Repair

How do you diagnose a power tool that loses power under load?

When a tool runs normally with no load but bogs down during use, what do you check first? Share a safe troubleshooting order for batteries, brushes, blades or bits, airflow, and internal wear.
I would start with the easy external checks: use a known-good battery or outlet, confirm the blade or bit is sharp and appropriate, and clear blocked vents. If it still bogs down, inspect accessible brushes and listen for bearing noise or excessive sparking before considering internal electrical work.
